Prez John Mahama Makes National Security Appointments

President John Dramani Mahama has bolstered Ghana’s national security apparatus with the appointment of four seasoned professionals to pivotal roles.

In a press release dated Wednesday (15 January), the Office of the Presidency announced the appointments of Prosper Douglas Bani, Abdul-Osman Razak, Nathan Kofi Boakye, and Charles Kipo for critical positions within the country’s security framework.

According to the President, these key appointments to the nation’s security apparatus reflect his commitment to ensuring national security and the safety of all Ghanaians, as noted by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President’s acting spokesperson, in a statement issued on Wednesday, January 15.

Kofi Boakye and Prosper Bani were part of the President’s temporary six-man security coordinating team before the President was officially sworn in.

Other members of the team included Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), former Chief of Defence Staff, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, former Minister for National Security, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., former National Security Coordinator, and Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd.).
