English premier league side Manchester United have renewed interest in Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who is valued at £40 million and has a Ghanaian father.
This renewed interest comes two years after the Premier League club missed an opportunity to sign him for a significantly lower price.
Suzuki was on the verge of moving to Manchester United from Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds in the summer of 2023.
However, he opted against the transfer, preferring not to be a backup to incoming goalkeeper Andre Onana. Instead, he chose to go on loan to Belgian side Sint-Truiden.
Following his loan stint, Parma secured Suzuki’s services for £8.5 million, where he has since garnered praise for his performances in Serie A, attracting attention from some of Europe’s top clubs.
Chelsea had also expressed interest in the 22-year-old last summer but ultimately signed Dane Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal while continuing to monitor Suzuki’s development.
Despite interest from Manchester United and other clubs, Parma hope to retain Suzuki for at least another season.
However, a substantial offer could challenge the club’s determination to keep the talented goalkeeper.
