Former Accra Lions coach Ibrahim Tanko has taken over as head coach of Medeama SC after parting ways with Accra Lions earlier this season.
Medeama have endured a rough patch in the Ghana Premier League, failing to win their last four matches, including consecutive losses to Accra Lions and Berekum Chelsea.
Tanko, who also served as Ghana’s assistant coach in the past, is eager for a new challenge, and Medeama have secured his services amid their recent struggles.
These setbacks have left the club eight points adrift of the league leaders and significantly hindered their title aspirations.
Currently sitting in seventh place with 26 points from 18 games, Medeama’s management believes a managerial change is necessary to reignite the team’s performance.
Medeama’s leadership hopes Tanko’s appointment will give the squad the boost it needs to recover form and re-enter the title race.
