Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has made serious allegations against Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the immediate past Director of the National Signals Bureau (NSB).
According to Dr. Ayine, Adu-Boahene is accused of embezzling a staggering GH₵39 million from the agency. This accusation follows an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities at the NSB, with Dr. Ayine sharing the findings at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025.
“GH₵39,462,480 went into Adu-Boahene and his wife’s pockets from one transaction,” Dr. Dominic Ayine alleged.
“We are still tracking the suspect, Adu-Boahene, his wife, and their assets. In the coming days, we will file the necessary charges against them,” he added.
Dr. Ayine announced that the former Director of the National Signals Bureau had been arrested for allegedly diverting public funds intended for a cybersecurity defense system.
“In his capacity as Director of the National Signals Bureau, Mr. Adu-Boahene signed a contract on January 20, 2020, between the Government of Ghana, the National Security, and an Israeli company named RLC Holdings Limited. The contract was for the purchase of cybersecurity defense system software at a price of $7 million,” Dr. Ayine accused.
Dr. Ayine revealed that Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former NSB Director, made a suspicious transaction shortly after signing the agreement. Investigations showed that Adu-Boahene allegedly diverted funds into his personal accounts and those of his wife.
“On February 6, 2020, he transferred an initial amount of GH₵27,100,000 from the National Signals Bureau account at Fidelity Bank to a private BNC account at UMB. Official documentation on the transfer reveals that the amount was for the payment of the cybersecurity defense system software. He transferred the money to his private company,” he said.
Dr. Ayine assured the public that legal proceedings would follow, and the necessary charges would be filed against Adu-Boahene and his wife.
