The management team of King Paluta, the Aseda hitmaker, has formally petitioned the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) board, seeking an explanation for the exclusion of his 2024 hit “Makoma” from the 2025 nominations.
In their letter to the board, the management team expressed dissatisfaction over the omission, arguing that Makoma was Ghana’s most popular song released during the eligibility period.
“We humbly write to your honorable board to request an explanation regarding the snub of Makoma by King Paluta, a song we duly submitted for consideration, which we believe remains Ghana’s most popular release during the review period, continuing to generate excitement among music lovers to this day,” part of the letter read.
They further stated, “This concern has become necessary after the team realized that none of the categories we submitted the song for were considered following the official nominees’ announcement.”
Paluta firmly believes that his song adheres to the TGMA board’s moral and ethical standards and deserves recognition in at least one category.
