Renowned Ghanaian gospel singer Diana Hamilton has responded to speculations over her collaboration with Nigerian gospel artist Mercy Chinwo.
Speaking to Graphic Showbiz, Hamilton clarified that the collaboration was not driven by a desire for publicity or career enhancement.
Instead, she explained that the primary aim was to create an inspiring gospel song that would touch hearts and uplift listeners.
“Every song has its own unique purpose and message. I strongly believe that the person I collaborate must align with that purpose.”
She elucidated that, “It’s not about making music; it’s about touching lives and ministering to people. It’s never about who can bring the most attention or traction to the song.’’
The talented artist added that they had been talking about the collaboration for a while before it became feasible and that she has always been fond of Mercy Chinwo’s music and talent.
“I would love to collaborate more with other artists, but I’m not always around. I remember once recording a song that was supposed to feature someone. After recording my part, I sent it to Kaywa, but he didn’t like it. I had to fly back from the UK to redo it, and when I did, he loved it, and we produced a masterpiece,’’ she recounted.
