Ghana’s airport rank among the finest in Africa – Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has praised the country’s infrastructure progress, highlighting that Ghana’s airports rank among the finest in Africa.

While delivering the keynote address at the 2025 African Prosperity Dialogue (APD), the vice president underscored the critical role these airports play in enhancing both regional and international travel.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang further noted that the modernization of Ghana’s ports is aimed at boosting trade, while the continued expansion of road and rural networks seeks to connect key economic zones.

“Our airports are among the best on the continent, I must admit. Our ports are being modernized to facilitate trade, and we are expanding our road and rural networks to link essential economic zones,” she disclosed.

She also highlighted Ghana’s investments in energy infrastructure, which are designed to ensure a stable and affordable power supply for both industries and households.

She lauded President Mahama for his commitment to infrastructure development, describing it as a crucial factor in Ghana’s economic transformation.

However, she acknowledged that while progress has been made, much work remains to be done across Africa. She emphasized the importance of investing in digital infrastructure, noting that mobile technology has already transformed financial inclusion across the continent.
