Fire paunch shops at Kejetia market again

Kejetia Market encounter another fire explosion in the untimely hours of Tuesday, February 12, 2025, attacking two trading shops.

The episode, which occurred at 3:50 a.m., involved shops known for selling chemicals, fabrics, and coat linings.

The outbreak was at first curbed by the market’s fire patrol team and security guards using dry chemical powder extinguishers and water.

Staffs from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reached the scene and quickly took over the operation.

The blaze were brought under guide and fully put out within an hour.

Thanks to the team’s augment patrols and calculated firefighting try, the fire was shut out from spreading beyond the two affected shops.

Out of 25 shops at risk, 23 were reclaimed, preventing a major tragedy.

This new episode comes just weeks after a related fire outbreak hit the market on January 24, 2025.

Luckily, no fatalities were recorded, although the two shops suffer limited damage.
