Electoral Commission Declares Official Results of Ghana’s 2024 Election

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has officially declared John Dramani Mahama as the winner of the 2024 presidential election. Mahama, the candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), secured 56.55% of the vote, surpassing his main rival, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who received 41.61%.

The EC chairperson, Jean Mensa, announced the results after a thorough review of votes from across the country. Despite delays in the collation process from nine constituencies, the overall outcome was clear. Bawumia conceded defeat promptly, emphasizing the importance of unity and a peaceful transition of power.
