This incumbent government will be the most productive and leanest – President John Mahama

According to President John Dramani Mahama, Ghanaians should anticipate the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to be the most productive and leanest in the nation’s history.

He also revealed that he will shortly appoint deputy ministers for a few of the ministries, raising the total to 60, during the swearing-in ceremony of his first six ministers on Wednesday at the Jubilee House in Accra.

“So far, I’ve named 42 ministers of state and regional ministers to begin the urgent task of resetting our dear country, which has suffered in recent years from severe crisis in many sectors.

He went on to say, “As the ministers are approved by parliament, and as they are sworn in, I’ll proceed to name deputy ministers for some of the ministries, which will bring the total number to 60, as I promised the people of Ghana.

“This will make this government Ghana’s leanest, and I believe, most efficient government ever in history. I’ve just sworn you in—this first six ministers, who are responsible for perhaps the most critical sectors of our national life, especially the economy and the energy sector,’’ President Mahama added.
