The departing Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), Juliet Asante, has public called on the government to issue an official letter terminating her appointment.
In a Facebook post, she indicated concern over the lack of formal communication regarding her removal, saying that she should have received an official letter before her successors were named.
Her plea comes after the appointment of actress Kafui Danku as Executive Secretary and actor James Gardiner as Deputy Executive Secretary.
Following her departure, Asante has spoken about the difficulties she faced in the role since her appointment in 2020. She declared the NFA existed only on paper, lacking staff, funding, and office space to function effectively.
She also claimed that she was sexually strained by two of her male superiors during her term in office.
Meanwhile, a request has been put forward to former President John Mahama by a group of creatives, calling for the removal of Kafui Danku and James Gardiner from their newly appointed roles.
“And while you are at it, please send me my lay-off letter. It is only respectful to both CEOs to ask the sitting to go in writing before appointing another… or isn’t it?” she wrote.
