President Mahama has established the Planning Committee for the National Economic Dialogue (NED), which comprises seven members.
The acting spokesperson for the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, issued a statement on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
The members of the committee include Ernest De-Graft Egyir, Mohammed Samara, Nelly Mireku, Anthony Sarpong, Professor John Gatsi, and Dr. K.Y. Amoako.
Guided by Dr. Ishmael Yamson, the committee will convene a distinguished dialogue to foster consultation and achieve consensus on the essential policies required to transform Ghana into an inclusive, resilient, and high-growth economy.
“The NED will provide a forum for discourse and deliberation regarding the nation’s urgent developmental issues.”
The discourse will also encompass policy considerations. The statement articulated the necessity of navigating trade-offs and fostering consensus on the reforms essential for transforming Ghana into a high-growth, inclusive, and resilient economy.
The National Economic Dialogue represents a pivotal initiative in addressing Ghana’s economic challenges, which include the need for resilience and structural transformation to achieve budgetary sustainability.
