The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) management has announced a scheduled shutdown at the Kpeve Headworks in Ho, Volta Region, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
According to a statement from the Volta Regional GWCL management, the shutdown will occur from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The GWCL explained that the shutdown is necessary to allow the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to replace a faulty Ring Main Unit (RMU) in their power supply system.
“This is to facilitate the replacement of a defective Ring Main Unit (RMU) in the ECG power supply system,” the statement said.
As a result, water supply to the following areas will be affected: Peki, Have, Bame, Akrofu, Ziave, Klefe, and the entire Ho township.
However, the GWCL management assured residents that “production will resume immediately after the maintenance work is completed.”
The management also urged its valued customers to store enough water in anticipation of the shutdown and expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding,” the press release concluded.
