Let’s engage with Mahama directly; Dzifa won’t meet our needs – Salinko to creatives

Kumawood actor Abraham Kofi Davis, widely known as Salinko, has urged his fellow creatives to hold President John Dramani Mahama accountable, rather than Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

During a conversation on Onua Showtime, Salinko pointed out that Gomashie’s role is mainly administrative within the creative arts ministry. He emphasized that it is Mahama, not the tourism minister, who has the authority to implement policies that will benefit the creative arts industry.

“I believe that by the end of John Mahama’s four years, we’ll still be having the same conversation. If we want real progress in the creative arts industry, our focus should be on Mahama, as Dzifa will only be in charge of the ministry. When Mark Okraku Mantey was Deputy Minister, what did What did he do for the industry? From what I’ve seen, he didn’t do anything for us,’’ he alleged.

Salinko also urged President John Dramani Mahama to involve private sector developers in the creative arts industry. He stated that this approach could help avoid delays and inefficiencies when it comes to implementing policies.

“I believe John Dramani Mahama truly cares about the creative arts industry, so I’m calling on him to provide us with private sector developers. This would allow us to work directly with them, without having to Go through Dzifa Gomashie or any other bureaucratic processes,’’ he suggested.
